This message is a reminder to fathers that they, too, have a Father in Heaven to whom they can entrust the burdens and challenges of fatherhood. It also considers how, in our modern age, many men wrestle with the perception that their entire identity is wrapped up in their fruitfulness or productivity. When that ability to produce is diminished or lost, it can register psychologically as though they have lost not only their purpose but even their right to exist. This is one of the ways the enemy attacks our identity, just as he sought to undermine Christ's identity during His temptation in the wilderness.
